2. What Candor is (and isn't)

Candor is an AI-powered personal finance tool that provides budgeting guidance, debt analysis, and savings recommendations based on information you provide. It is designed to be honest, direct, and educational.

Candor is not:

• A registered investment advisor (RIA)
• A licensed financial planner or broker
• A substitute for professional financial, legal, or tax advice
• A bank or financial institution

The insights and recommendations generated by Candor are based on information you self-report and are processed by AI. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your specific circumstances.

3. Your responsibilities

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Candor.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the financial information you provide.
• You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make based on information from Candor.

4. No financial advice

All information provided by Candor — including your Candor Score, financial assessment, personal plan, and chat responses — is for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product or security. Past financial behavior is not indicative of future results.

5. AI-generated content

Candor uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI's GPT-4o) to generate responses. AI-generated content can be incorrect, outdated, or incomplete. Do not rely on AI-generated content for important financial decisions without verifying the information independently.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Candor and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any information provided by the Service. This includes, without limitation, financial losses, missed opportunities, or decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of applicable jurisdiction.
